It is very important to clarify the "BODY + BREATH = LIVING SOUL" equation.
Imagine you had a bunch of loose boards and nails, which represent the "Body"
and "breath" respectively.
Alone and separate they form nothing.
But when combined, then can bring something into existence, like a box.
Then remove the "breath" (the nails), and what happens to the box? It's
gone, vanished.
The box didn't "go someplace else" (eg. to heaven), it merely stopped
existing as a box. The only time you can have a box is when there's a untion
of our boards and nails.
It's the same way with man. The only time he is a "living soul" is when he
has his body and breath.
Another good analogy is a light bulb.
A lightbulb without electricty is useless...
But add electricity and you have light.
It's a combination of things that brings "life" to the lightbulb. Remove
either the bulb or the electricity and the light "dies."
Where did the LIGHT go? It didn't "go" anywhere, it simply ceased to exist.
It didn't go back to a photon storehouse at the electric company, nor did they
push light down the wires.
The very same thing happens to the "soul" when man dies. The soul or person
doesn't "go" anywhere, He simply ceases being a living personality until the
resurrection.
