In his arms she fell as her hair came down... I was born Daniel Douglas Adams somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains in October of 1970, and since then have enjoyed such activities as making covenants with bobcats (1993), partying with James Doohan (1992), outrunning a train on foot (1994), hunting down psychics and spirit channelers and haunted houses (1991 to present), working in other centuries (1999, 1850, 1740, and 1671), and other mundane pastimes. My favorite passions include writing and anything outdoors.

I am the co-author, with Philip Jose Farmer, of the short science fiction novel The City Beyond Play, released by PS Publishing in September 2007. As of June 2008 the book is a nominee for the 2008 British Fantasy Awards in the Best Novella category.

I don't have a comprehensive bibliography here on my webpage, but you can check out one that's nearly so on the biography page of my online journal:

Irrationally Exuberant

I'll have a complete listing here soon!

To love another person is to see the face of God.
    --Les Miserables,
    (musical version)

    Imagination is intelligence having fun.
    --ancient science-fiction
    convention button wisdom

When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action you should take--choose the bolder.
    --W.J. Slim

One man's lunatic behavior is another man's lounge act.
    --Rizzo the Rat,
    Muppets From Space

Shouldn't we be grateful for the teacher's candor, in whatever setting it appears, for a voice that keeps us honest?
    --The Monks of New Skete,
    In the Spirit of Happiness

A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.
    -- William James

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
    --George Bernard Shaw

...I always present myself as the soul of innocence, the better to further my works of corruption.
    --James M. Pfundstein

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
    --Theodore Roosevelt

Never take counsel of your fears.
    --General George S. Patton

The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.
    --David Friedman

Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.
    --Theodore Giesel, aka Dr. Seuss

A large volume of adventures may be grasped within this little span of life, by him who interests his heart in everything.
    -- Laurence Sterne

    Adventure is worthwhile.
    -- Amelia Earhart

Study hard, work out hard, play hard...for the rest of time, amen!
    --Jess Goode

I've heard of writers who have to woo their muse; wear certain clothes and wait for certain alignments of the stars. All I need is the computer. Sometimes I shower, and sometimes I even eat.
    --Chris Gavaler

    And for Laurie:
In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.
    --Albert Schweitzer

    Carpe Diem!!!

My original photo album is working again! (Or if it isn't, try my mirror at dda.wwco.com.)

RECENT PICTURES: Thanks to Walt, I now have a new photo gallery online, with a sampling of pictures taken over the last three years or so!

I also have a TEXT GUIDE to the places in my album. And listed below are all the people who found a place in my virtual album, as well as links to their homepages where available. Italics mean there isn't an online picture of the person yet...but there will be soon. More pictures to follow.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: For reasons of privacy, all e-mail addresses except for my own have been removed from this site. Homepage links remain in place.

If you wish to get in touch with someone listed here who does not have a homepage, contact me first and I'll ask for their permission, or pass along your contact info to them.
