Abraham Knepp's obituary:
A.P. Knepp died at his home in this City (Fairbury, IL), Tuesday at (4)
o'clock, after an illness of several weeks of dropsy and heart trouble.
A.P. Knepp was born in Milford County, Penns. April 30 1846. Soon after his
birth his parents moved to Ohio, where they lived until he was 15 years old,
when they moved to Iowa. When he was 21, Mr. Knepp came to Illinois, settling
in Moultrie County. He was there married to Miss Amanda Miller, December 6
1868. To this union eight children were born, six of whom are living. Emma,
William and Sarah Knepp of Eureka Illinois, and John, Levi and Daniel of
Peoria Illinois. All of the children were present at the funeral services.
The mother passed away May 11 1898. The deceased moved back to Iowa from
Illinois in 1876, and after 20 years residence in that state returned to
Illinois, settling on a farm near Forrest. The family moved to Fairbury
a short time later and resided there until his death.
He was united in marriage to Dora Weiser, who survives him, in this City in
March 1900.
The deceased was a man of excellent character, and held the respect of all who
knew him. The funeral services were held at the German Apostolic Church,
Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rever. John Garber officiating, and the
remains were laid to rest in the Fairbury cemetery.
Buried in Row 8 of the Apostolic Christian Church section of Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury, Illinois.
