An Army veteran of WWII, Uncle Rosley came back from Europe without a scratch.
For many years, he ran a barbershop on Melrose Avenue in Roanoke, VA near the edge of Salem--the shop is long gone now, replaced by a lot that sells mobile homes. In later years, through the 1970's and early 1980's, he worked instead at the Roanoke Elks Club (B.P.O.E. #197). He was my barber when I was a kid, until he retired--always giving me crew cuts per my dad's instructions.
Uncle Rosley was a member and deacon at Grandin Court Baptist Church in Roanoke.
