Walt's Photography

Because sometimes you just want a nice photo of yourself...

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What makes you different from Glamor Shots, Olan Mills, a walk-in studio like Walmart's, and other photographer services?
A. Well, there's a number of things:

  • Our speciality is private shoots, either in the privacy of your own home, on location, or you may come to us. We use high quality equipment and can setup in about an hour. This includes being able to preview, retouch, and make prints on site.
  • We don't pile on makeup, we don't dress you in boas, and we don't use cookie cutter backgrounds. We like it when you look like yourself, and the shot isn't contrived.
  • We don't stamp a logo on photos produced for you. Our advertising is by word of mouth and referrals.
  • We also give you rights to make unlimited personal copies of your photos.
  • And, if you have a website, we can help you, too.

Q. Can you provide me images for Facebook, MySpace, LiveJournal, or other networking sites?
A. You betcha! We can make icons and backgrounds for your computer and even some cell phones.

Q. Can you make a really nice picture of me for dating sites?
A. We sure can.

Q. If I wanted a modeling portfolio of myself, could you help me?
A. Absolutely. In addition to producing a nice portfolio and Zed cards / Composite cards, we can work with you to get prints, digital images, put together a web site, or even a high quality slideshow that can play in a standard DVD player.

Q. Do people contact you about the models you use?
A. Yes, occasionally we do get asked who a model is, and how to reach them for potential job offers, and so forth. Depending on the model's wishes, we either get that person in contact with the model or simply forward the request along. The model is free to act without us being an agent.

Q. I'd like to model, but don't have funds for a session. Am I out of luck?
A. Not necessarily. It may be possible to do a Time for Prints (TFP) / Time for CD (TFCD) arrangement, where you trade your time in exchange for photos taken.

Q. Black and White PhotographyI have never modeled before, is that a problem?
A. Usually not. The photographer can direct you and review early shots to help you get the look you want.

Q. May I bring an escort?
A. Of course, but the escort will need to stay out of the way and not distract the shoot.

Q. Do you also do black'n'white photography?
A. Yes, and with variations and special effects. We can do classical, dramatic, old fashioned, and even spot color.

Q. Do you do events?
A. Yes. However, we're selective about which ones. We enjoy working family reunions and large scale parties.

Q. I'm 18 or older, would you photograph me?
A. Absolutely; we simply need a photo id with date of birth on it. When you contact us, share your ideas about what kind of look you want. If you're unsure, we can help.

Q. Are you going to put my head on someone else's body or vice versa?
A. No. That's not what we're about. We can do in-camera and post processing tricks to make you thinner, fuller, or taller, but no body parts are swapped between models.
