GOD'S IDENTIFYING MARKS ON THE TRUE CHURCH

IT MUST ARISE AFTER 1798. The church was to remain in hiding until the end of the 1,260 years, and that "wilderness" period ended in 1798. The Seventh-day Adventist Church emerged in the mid-nineteeth century, among people of various religious persuasions who attempted to come back to the pure faith of the Bible. It did not invent new truth, but simply sought to restore all the lost and neglected truths that had been preserved by the church in the wilderness throughout the Dark Ages.

IT MUST KEEL ALL THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, INCLUDING THE SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH ON SATURDAY. This is not a new truth discovered by Adventists, but a truth that was taught by Christ and the apostles and by the church in the wildreness, a truth finally recaptured and proclaimed once again by the remnant.

IT MUST HAVE THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. We can see the prophecys we've examined here and also the work of Ellen White.

IT MUST PREACH THE THREE ANGELS' MESSAGES OF REVELATION 14:6-12. There is no other church on the face of the earth that proclaims the beginning of the judgement in 1844. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is not afriad to proclaim the fall of Babylon, and to warn people against the mark of the beast.

IT MUST BE A GOSPEL-CENETERED MOVEMENT. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the basic foundation of the Bible. The Seventh-day Adventists Church considers the doctrin of righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ to be the very heart and center of its faith. The truth of the Sabbath, for example, is a precious, Christ-centered truth because it leads the individual believer to deepen his personal relationship with Jesus Christ by spending special quality time with Him. The remnant is a gospel movement.

IT MUST BE A TRUELY INTERNATION, WORLDWIDE ORGANIZATION. Today it is proclaiming its message in just about every country of the earth. Only about 12 percent of its nearly six million members live in the United States. It is truely an international movement.
